I noticed by accident on January 18 an advertisement in the daily The Hindu.
...
It was by the International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS), inviting Expression of Interest (EOI) from FOSS Resource Persons and Organizations for inclusion in the inventory of FOSS Resources.
I was delighted to read this ad. Immediately I called to the office of the ICFOSS and submitted my EOI onine. I was rather disappointed that the FOSS is not gaining momentum in the state of Kerala as compared to other parts of the country and the world. If the initiative is from the side of government, it is mostly welcome. I hope, may this give an impetus to the FOSS community in Kerala.
I request my friends and colleagues to give full support to this effort. Do not fail it.
The ad reads like this: ICFOSS, an autonomous institution of the Government of Kerala, mandated with the promotion of Free and Open Source Software and related domains, invites individuals and organizations with demonstrable expertise on different FOSS-based tools and technologies, for inclusion in the inventory of FOSS Resources (IFR) that it is in the process of being created.
The inventory is meant to be a publicly-accessible repository of FOSS resources of individuals and organizations who can provide services such as software development, content development, training and consulting services on FOSS and related domains, and shall be available to any entity that may require such services in Kerala.
